{Read-A-Thon} Cram-A-Thon 2018 Wrap Up

Hey, guys!

    This round of Cram-A-Thon was soooo ROUGH!!! I didn't really follow my TBR at all because I was just struggling to push through my reading slump. However, I did technically read four books. Granted, I did finish two books that I had already started, but I'm counting them! It took me a while to get through these books, so I'm pretty proud of my reading progress. Consider this a sneak peek into my June Reading Wrap Up! Here are the books that I finished and the challenges that they correspond with!

Challenge 1: 

A predicted 5-star book

I really wasn't sure what I would have rated these four books. I was hoping for higher ratings, but all four of these books ended up being 3 star-books for me. 

Challenge 2: 

A book that's out of your comfort zone

None of my four books were out of my comfort zone. I just read what I could because I was in such a terrible slump. 

If I were to stretch this challenge, I could maybe put The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue in here. I'm not a huge historical fiction fan, but I did really enjoy this. The only reason this book doesn't receive a 4-star rating is that I easily just put it down. It's been sitting on my currently reading pile for a couple months and I just didn't have any desire to finish it. 

Challenge 3: 

A book that has been on your TBR for a long time

None of these books have been on my TBR in a LOONG time, but I have been meaning to reread Red Queen to continue on with the series since Glass Sword came out in 2016.

Challenge 4: 

An LGBTQ+ Own Voices Book

That Inevitable Victorian Thing by E.K. Johnston

I'm not sure if this is an own voices novel, but it had some great LGBTQA+ rep. I cannot attest to its authenticity, but there was some great diversity throughout this novel. Though this book had a wonderful alternate world, I really did not enjoy it as much as I would have hoped. The characters, relationships, and the pacing just weren't up to par. The world, the diversity, and the alternate history were fantastic though. I really enjoyed those bits.

Challenge 5: 

Something that is not a standard novel

Red Queen (Red Queen #1) by Victoria Aveyard

KIND OF FAILED!

I'm not sure if this counts, but I did read 90% of Red Queen via audiobook. That is not my usual means of reading, so it's not standard for me.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

This is actually the book of the month pick for the Liv the Book Club. I really expected to enjoy this book, but it really fell flat for me. I wasn't that big of a fan. I'll have a full review coming soon.

Summer Cram-A-Thon & Summer BookTube-A-Thon 2016 Wrap Up

Hey, guys!

The Summer 2016 Cram-a-Thon is now over so that means it's time to share the books that I've read in the past few days. I didn't really start reading seriously until day 2 or 3 of the cram-a-thon because weekends have been really busy lately. So I didn't read all of the books on my TBR even though they weren't very long. 

Here are the books that I've read in the past 4 days:

• The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (only 70 pages)

Challenges Completed:

1. Read a book under 200 pages (Fantastic Beasts, AoT #1 & 2)
2. Read a graphic novel (AoT #1-3)
3. Read a book you've never finished  (AoT #1)
4. Read a novella/short story (Fantastic Beasts)
5. Read a book written in verse
6. Read 5 books total (This almost happened, but I had a third of The Hidden Oracle left so only 4 counts. ;) )

     I finished 4 challenges this time around (1-4) and I completed 4 books. 3 graphic novels and a short story/book. I wasn't exactly trying to complete any challenges, but I was trying to read as much as I could. I actually read the most on the last day of the read-a-thon, which surprises me because it was my busiest day.

BookTube-A-Thon Wrap Up

      Guys! I am so proud of myself! I read 7 books for the BookTubeAThon! Granted, four were manga volumes of Attack On Titan, but I consider graphic novels and manga to be literature and actual books. Graphic novels and manga both have so much work put into them -- just like an orthodox novel. I don't think they should be left out of the literature label. Anyway, I had a great week of reading and I can't wait for the next BookTubeAThon! I loved this so much. I enjoyed this year much more than I did last year because I actually got involved with Twitter-sprints and the Instagram challenges. Next year, I hope to get involved with the video challenges as well. This year, that just couldn't happen. I loved watching everyone's video updates, their Goodreads updates, and the tweets that everyone posted. It was so lovely to see this amazing community united and enjoying the written word. I'm pretty sure this community is the best community to be in.

      I managed to complete 5 &1/2 challenges! I did read 7 books, but I did not read a book that was older than me and I didn't manage to watch the movie adaptation of The BFG..but I did rewatch an episode of Attack On Titan :D Does that even count? I don't even know. Anyway, I loved these challenges. Anyway, I've read all of Reagan's Attack On Titan volumes, so there may not be any more AoT updates for a while. (Manga volumes are so expensive! Reagan just bought 3 volumes and the total price was ridiculous! I don't think I will ever buy manga volumes...library here I come...) Here are the books that I read this week and how they fulfilled the challenges.

Cram-A-Thon 2016 TBR

     This written really late, but I figured I should announce this read-along and my TBR since I will be taking part in it.

This is a really chill read-a-thon, so there aren't any expectations other than to do your best and to read as much as you'd like. I chose some really short books that I've been wanting to read.

• Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them by J.K. Rowling
• Attack On Titan Volume 1 by Hajime Isayama

I can't wait to read these books. I'm really loving The Hidden Oracle and I know that I will love all of these books!

Winter Break/ Bookmas & Winter Cram-a-thon TBR/Weekend Reads {12/18~12/22}

Hey guys!

       Exams week is finally over, and it's time for my Christmas Break! I've been looking forward to this break since my Thanksgiving Break in November..haha. This weekend and in the next couple weeks, there are going to be at least two read-a-thons that are coming up. I know that Hailey (Hails Hearts nyc) from BookTube's Bookmas read-a-thon has already started and will continue until December 25th. I also know that Whitney's (from WhittyNovels) Winter Cramathon is starting either tonight or tomorrow night, and I want to hop on that train and read the crap out of my books. Here are the books I want to read for these read-a-thons!

Now, the Cram-A-Thon has 8 challenges, and some Reading Sprints that are hosted by Whitney and Danni on Twitter. I'm really excited to get back to reading because I'm halfway through Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is a re-read, but I'm re-reading the first two to continue on with the Lux series.

Here are the challenges for the Cram-a-Thon!

I actually won't be trying to complete all of the challenges, but I'm just going to try to read as much as I can, and read what I want to read. 

Now the Bookmas read-a-thon is kind of more for vloggers, and because I don't have access to start a BookTube channel yet, I'm just going to post some mini-videos on Instagram, so keep an eye out! Bookmas has 12 challenges, and for the read-a-thon the whole idea is to read what you want and as much as you can, which is totally awesome.

       So the Lux series could be counted for challenges two and three and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever could be for challenge four. I do not have any unread graphic novels at the moment, and I don't have any books that aren't from the library that I have DNF'd. I also do not have many audiobooks, and I don't particularly want to read any eBooks right now, so I'm not going to make myself...well, I have quite a few on my Kindle that need to be read, but that's for another time. 

       One of my friends leant me her copy of Defriended on Friday, because she had described it to me and it intrigued me, so I'm going to read it while I'm on break. I think this could be really interesting, and it will be my first dip into the horror genre.

       I read the first book in the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series in the beginning of December, and while it didn't thrill me as much as I had hoped, I decided to read on with the series and see if it improves as Georgia grows up a little, because I did not like her much. I hope On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God is an improvement to the story, and the characters improve some.

      My grandma also was going through her old books, and gave my sister quite a few paper backs of her favorite books, and The Best Christmas Pageant was one of them. It seems to be kind of self explanatory, and it looks to be a really cute little story. It most likely won't take more than an hour to read because it's under 200 pages.

      To be honest I'm about 5 pages from finishing Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout..and by the time I put this up tomorrow (Saturday) I will probably be starting Onyx.

      Ok the 12 Days Of Bookmas started on the 12th and ends on the 24, and the Winter Edition Cramathon starts  on the 19th, and ends on the 22nd, so get your TBRs ready! I don't know about you guys, but I'm so ready! I'll probably stray from this TBR, but this is my goal, and I may read the third book in the Georgia Nicolson series, and I may read The Maze Runner...The world will probably know on Wednesday haha. #CRAMATHON TBR

Hey guys! 

So, this weekend I've be participated in WhittyNovel's CRAMATHON this weekend (June 10~June 13). The CRAMATHON's purpose is to read a bunch of little books on your TBR pile and kind of make yourself feel better about your Goodreads Goal. Honestly, I'm about 20 books ahead of my reading schedule, but the CRAMATHON sounded really fun, so I'm excited to show you the books I chose to read. Also, there are challenges, but I decided not to most of the challenges because I didn't have a couple books that would fulfill the challenges. 

 

I decided to read:

• Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

• The Nevergirls: In A Blink by Kiki Thorpe [not shown]

I plan on reading In A Blink with my baby sister tonight, and I'm already 1/3 of the way done with The Lemonade Wars and I'm 80 pages into Ready Player One, so this ought to be fun.
