Hi! My name is Olivia and if you couldn't tell from the blog title, I am a self-proclaimed "book nerd." I've loved to read ever since I acquired the ability to comprehend that strings of letters represent the words that I had been chattering. My love for reading was heavily encouraged my my parents. My dad would read me the Junie B. Jones books before bed and my mom would read various books from The Boxcar Children. In elementary school, I adored reading the fantasy books found in my grade school classrooms' libraries and the library in the school. My favorites were: Mr. Popper's Penguins, Little Women, the Cherry Ames series, and The Royal Diaries series. Now, I absolutely adore intricate high fantasy tomes, swoon-worthy romances, high-stakes space operas and dystopian settings, literary theory, and feminist texts.
When I first began my blog, I primarily stayed in my comfort zone -- YA and middle grade novels -- but since the blog's publication in 2014, I've begun to enjoy so many different stories and voices. My goal is to read whatever tickles my fancy and to search for the next five-star read.
6 Things to Know About Olivia:
~ I am an incredibly passionate fan of Sarah J. Maas's work. Her books have changed my life and have inspired me to continue working hard on my own writing projects.~ I'm currently drafting my first novel. It's a young adult fantasy that has roots in Norse mythology. I plan on expanding it into a multi-tome series. I am also working on drafting and plotting a novel that follows the goddess, Freyja. My current projects primarily stem from Norse myths and whimsy.
~ I love listening to all kinds of music, but my current favorite genre of music is indie pop & instrumental. It's the perfect background noise for writing and imagining new worlds. My favorite musical artists are Aurora and Harry Styles.
~ I am
~ I have a twin sister and two younger siblings.
~ I am a college graduate from Indiana University. I have an English major with a concentration in writing, editing, and media. I hope to someday work for a publishing company where I can edit books and help promote the love of books. I'd also love to run a book-box or an indie bookstore. I'm currently working two jobs while I work on my own book and search for long-term work in my preferred field.
