Fall/Winter 2019 Book Haul


Hey, guys! 

Over the past few months, I've received and bought quite a few books. I can't believe that I've let these stacks accrue so long, but here are the books I acquired since I went back to school in August.

  • My beautiful Bardugo Babes sent me this book and I cannot wait to read this chunky baby. 
3. Part of Your World: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell
  • My other beautiful women, Jill and Annie, bought this for me. They gave me all Little Mermaid themed gifts and, even now, when I think about how thoughtful they were


Christmas Presents

Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi (signed and personalized)
  • This is actually a gift from last Christmas. Alex had pre-ordered this book for both of us months and months ago before the multiple deadline pushes, but we were able to go see Tomi Adeyemi at the beginning of December and she signed our books.
Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, and The                       Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (Anniversary Hufflepuff edition)
  • My fiancé is freaking amazing. These books are so beautiful, and I am so excited to have them in my collection
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
  • My beautiful and wonderful friend, Jill, gifted this book to me. I’m so so excited to have it. I cannot wait to read it in 2020.
A Merry Christmas and Other Short Stories by Louisa May Alcott
  • My mom gifted this to me for Christmas. She was upset that it didn't come in time for Christmas day, but I'm excited to read it on Christmas Eve next year.
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
  • Alex, my fiancé, has some really fantastic family members. His parents gifted me a gorgeous finished copy of this book. If you haven’t read my review, you definitely should because I’d love to convince you to read this super-fun book.
      Find Me Their Bones by Sara Wolf

  • Alex’s grandparents also gifted me with a finished copy of this book. I’m so so so excited to check out the finished product.
      The Treasury of Myths and Legends: A Family Heirloom of Stories to Inspire and Entertain by Dr. Alice Mills

  • This was actually a book that was gifted to both my fiancé and me. We are very excited to dive deeper into the stories within. We are big big fans of myths and legends

July & August 2019 Book Haul

I cannot believe that I didn't get to posting my July book haul, but oh well. It was definitely a wonderful month for reading and for acquiring books. I'm really pleased with all that I bought/acquired. However! August was an even bigger month for acquiring books too. I really did not mean to acquire over 30 books in August, but it happened. Before the end of the month, though, I gifted or traded some books that I did not buy for myself or was gifted. 

Here are the stacks and stacks of books that I acquired in the past couple of months!

*Please be aware that I did not buy the majority of these at their full price. I'm not as excessive as this book haul makes me out to be. Promise. I am excessive, but not "nearly 50 books" excessive.*

    • I picked this up at Joseph-Beth Booksellers Cincinnati. I was originally going to pick up Nevernight in hardcover, but they didn't have it in stock. I'm so glad that I picked this book up. I'm so obsessed with this series right now.
  • Godsgrave (Nevernight #2) by Jay Kristoff 
    • This is a signed first edition from Barnes and Noble! 
    • This month, I won a gift card from my job to B&N for the summer reading program.

    • This is one of the books that I picked for my BOTM monthly subscription!

    • This is another book that I picked for my BOTM box!

    • I had the pleasure of going to Cincinnati for the first tour stop for Rainbow and Faith's book tour for Pumpkinheads! It was such a wonderful experience and meeting them was a dream come true!

June 2019 Book Haul



Hey, guys!

Once again, I've acquired SO many books through my wily means. I've bought quite a few, been gifted some, and I've traded quite a few as well (though some aren't here yet). I've also read quite a lot, so don't think I'm just acquiring all of these books just because. I'm so excited about these books!

Here are the books I received, bought, and traded for.



  • We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
    • I bought this through the Book of the Month club! I'm so excited to read this book!
  • Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
    • I purchased this from Good Choice Reading! I'm so excited to have another Kristoff/Kaufman book signed! I cannot wait to read this for the last Biannual Bibliothon Read-a-Thon!
  • Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
    • I actually acquired 2 copies of this book this month! One was a preorder and the other (which is pictured) is the OwlCrate edition. My regular edition is being lent out to Julia who is reading it for our book club! 
  • Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young 
    • Guys! Another OwlCrate edition! This is actually an exclusive new cover, signed, and so pretty! I acquired this through a Twitter trade!
  • Beyond the Shadowed Earth by Joanna Ruth Meyer [ARC]
  • Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
    • Alex and I have been wanting to pick this book up for a while, so while he was away for the week I snagged us two copies from Books A Million. I'm so excited to read this book. It looks phenomenal.
  • Call It What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer
    • I preordered this gorgeous book soon after finishing A Curse So Dark and Lonely. I plan on reading this in the next few days! I love bingeing Kemmerer's contemporaries!
  • Ask Again Yes by Mary Beth Keane
    • This is another BOTM pick! It sounds so intriguing! I cannot wait to dive in!
  • The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
    • I went to an amazing sale at the beginning of the month and I found this 1st edition hardback for $2! How could I pass that up!?
  • How to Walk Away by Katherine Center
    • Another BOTM pick! I'm such a sucker for adult romance! This just sounded so fantastic! Not to mention, Taylor Jenkins Reid RAVED about this on the BOTM site!
  • The Song of Achilles by Margaret Rogerson
    • I actually got to meet Madeline Miller a few days ago! She spoke about her work for about an hour and then signed. I got my copy of Circe signed and then I bought a copy of The Song of Achilles for Alex and me, as well as a copy of Circe for him.
  • Famous in a Small Town by Emma Mills [ARC]
    • This is also another book I acquired through a Twitter trade! I feel so blessed!
  • Eleanor Oliphant is Okay by Gail Honeyman
    • I'm so excited to read this! A huge shoutout to the BOTM swap group that has blessed me with so many awesome swaps!
  • The Cactus by Sarah Haywood
    • This book sounds so good! I cannot wait to get to it in July. Reese Witherspoon actually sold me on this book. It's her book club's June pick! I'm sad that I couldn't fit it into my June reading, but I'm definitely reading it in July.
  • The History of Jane Doe by Michael Belanger
    • This sounds so fascinating. Thank you Michael Balanger for the copy! Stay tuned for a review, all.
  • Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey
    • Thank you, Berkley, for the gifted copy! I had the pleasure of reviewing WFTH through NetGalley and I really enjoyed this book. Don't forget to check out my review! 
  • The Grief Keeper by Alexandra Villasante
    • I had the pleasure of interviewing Alexandra for a blog post in early June. She and Putnam sent me a complimentary copy to review. I cannot wait to dive into this one. It sounds so freaking good.
  • The Moderne Faerie Tales by Holly Black
    • Another pre-order! I cannot wait to read these books! I've already started Tithe and I'm honestly iffy.

Spring Book Haul

Hey, guys!

      I've managed to neglect to post my full list for the past few months' book hauls. I've decided to just combine these past three months. Once again, I've managed to acquire SO MANY books. 

     March was full of preorders and a lovely weekend with my boyfriend where we went on an adventure to Indianapolis and did some book shopping. 

     April was a really hard month, emotionally. I also had a full schedule with final examinations and projects. I managed to go on another treat-yo-self-trip with Alex and bought some books. I was gifted some books too, by some dear friends. I'm super thankful. 

     May -- what can I say? I got to meet some fellow Hoosier Bookstagrammers where we exchanged books and chatted about our favorite books. It was so much fun. That is where I acquired the majority of my books. I also got some of my preordered books and I purchased a couple new releases. Overall, I'm still excessive and I'm really excited about the books I've acquired.
