Top 5 Wednesday {#19}: Favorite Bookstagrams (Book-ish Instagrams)

Hey, guys!

If you haven't followed my blog for long, then you wouldn't know about my Bookstagram account! Bookstagram is basically the community for book lovers on Instagram. I've been apart of this community for over a year now and I feel really at home. I've felt so welcome and accepted on Instagram and I love talking with everyone I meet on there.

I had the *great* idea to share 5 of my favorite bookstagram accounts. I actually couldn't make up my mind, so I may do another feature post about my other favorite accounts that didn't make the cut. There are a few things that I look for when I decide on my favorite accounts, but this time, I chose aesthetic. I love it when people post pictures of their fangirl/fanboy experiences, fanart, reviews, aesthetically pleasing pictures, hauls, shelfies, book-ish tumblr text posts, and other bookish pictures. I just love this community. Everyone is so creative and original. I just love this community!

Here Are Those 5 Bookstagram-ers:

@readingoncloud9

  • I love everything that Karmen posts! It's so gorgeous and I'm so envious of how creative she is. Her content is so beautiful.

~ @blueeyedbiblio

  • Emily's bookstagram account is everything that I wish mine was. Her pictures are so beautiful, her little Funko pops are such a cute addition to her pictures, and her bookish-selfies are so pretty!

~ @darkfaerietales

  • I adore Bridget's account! It's so colorful and her rainbow stacks are so gorgeous and when they pop up on my Instagram dash, I just stare at them and wish I could take pictures like that. *sigh*.

~ @bookwormboutique

  • Not only does Lauren have an adorable online boutique, she posts really pretty pictures on her Instagram. Someday, I plan on buying some of her amazing products.

~ @forthelove_ofbooks
  • Emilie's Instagram account is everything that I wish mine was. I love how colorful and original each picture is. Here different little Funko pop figures are also really cute additions to her pictures.

I hope you all check out these lovely ladies' accounts. Their accounts are so fun and I can't wait to see what they post next.

Until next time! Happy reading!

Top 5 Wednesday {#18}: Favorite Book-ish Tumblrs

Hey, guys!

If you've been following my blog for the past year, then you would have noticed that I have been linking my Tumblr at the end of my reviews for you all to check out. I figured that it was about time for me to share some of my favorite accounts with you guys! As I was searching for the complete URL-s for my favorite blogs. I decided to share with you a few of my top 5 favorite blogs from three categories...which probably doesn't make sense yet, so...basically I couldn't choose just 5 blogs overall, so I created 3 categories to put some of my favorites in.

The 3 Categories:
  • Fanart

So...I had to narrow it down to 5 blogs for each category...That didn't happen. You'll see soon enough!

Top 5 Wednesday {#17}: Books For Rainy Days

Hey, guys!

This week, I wanted to share a few books that I think are perfect for rainy days. I'm not sure why, but I've always found that high fantasy and classics are the perfect kinds of books to read on a rainy day. This may be different for others, but for me, that's what usually pops into my head when I think of books for rainy days. To be honest, when it rains here in Indiana, I usually continue reading whatever I'm reading currently...so, these books are usually books I've read while it rained or books that give me nostalgic feelings or books that I can see myself reading on a rainy day.

Question: What genre of book do you associate with reading on a rainy day?

There were so many books that I could see myself reading on a rainy day, one being the book I'm currently reading: A Court Of Mist & Fury (I'm writing this a week early, so I may be done with it by the time this is posted, but on we go). It just recently poured and I was definitely not complaining. I mean...I stood out in the rain for like 2 minutes and was soaked...I loved it. Rainy weather is the perfect reading weather. You can cuddle up in bed like a burrito and read a great book...*sigh* I think that's what I'm going to do sooner rather than later. Anyway, the five books I chose were mainly from the fantasy/high-fantasy genre but there is one romance/contemporary book that I just had to add. I chose:

  1. Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone by J.K. Rowling
  2. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
  3. Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
  4. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
  5. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I don't know what it is about fantasy/high fantasy books, but reading them while it rains is such a soothing and nostalgic feeling. I love to sink into a different world and have the sound of rain in the back ground...I love it. Comment down below if you agree! The Fault In Our Stars was chosen because of the subject matter and the end. It's very sad, if you don't know, and if I had to chose a contemporary that I would read while it was raining, that would be the one.

If you have anything to add on this topic, comment below or contact me via my social media links which will be linked down below! I love to discuss this with you all! Don't hesitate to contact me via email either! I love to answer questions or recommend y'all books. I hope you have a lovely week and I will see you tomorrow with my June Wrap Up!

Happy Reading!

Top 5 Wednesday {#16}: Fictional Items I Want

Hey, guys!

It's time for another Top 5 Wednesday! This week I'll be discussing the fictional items that I want. There were so many things to choose from, and I had to choose them from, but the items mainly came from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Doctor Who...I mean who would have guessed! *wink* There are 6 instead of 5, but I couldn't narrow it down anymore...

Here They Are:
  1. Wand
  2. Invisibility Cloak
  3. Time Turner
  4. Sonic Screwdriver
  5. T.A.R.D.I.S.
  6. Light Saber
I mean who wouldn't want any of these items?!?!? With a wand, you can cast any kind of spell! With an invisibility cloak, you can sneak around and be invisible. With a time turner, you can go back in time and have awesome experiences. With a sonic screwdriver, you can help the Doctor save the world, and that goes the same with a T.A.R.D.I.S.! You can travel space-time with the coolest guy in the universe! Who doesn't want to do that? ...Do I have to explain the light saber? Seriously....who has never wanted a light saber? They are amazing!

Picture of wand

This is actually my wand. It chose me on Pottermore.

Top 5 Wednesday {#15}: Favorite YA Character Names

Hey, guys!

It's that time again! It's been a couple weeks, but it's time for another top 5 Wednesday! This week I will be discussing my favorite character names from the YA books I've read. As you all know, I've read many YA books so compiling a list of 5 names was kind of hard. I made a list of 10, and narrowed it down to 5... here are the 5 that I chose!

My Favorite Names from YA Lit:

1. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter series)
    • I had never heard of the name Hermione before I read the Harry Potter books. To be honest, I think I'm going to name one of my future children Hermione. I adore the name, and I adore the character, Hermione. She's one of the best characters ever written.

2. America Singer/Schreave (The Selection series)
    • Maybe it's my biased opinion about my love for the series, but I love America's name.
{review of (1-3), (4), (5), (novellas)}

3. Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter series)
    • Who doesn't love the name Albus Dumbledore?!?!?!

4. Shahzrad (The Wrath & the Dawn)
    • Shahzrad is such a cool name. It's so worldly and mysterious.

5. Feyre (A Court of Thorns & Roses)
    • Again! Such a magical name! I love it so much!

The Runner Ups:

Happy reading, everyone!

Top 5 Wednesday {#14}: Intimidating Reads (from my shelf)

Hey, guys!

This week I am going to discuss the books on my TBR that intimidate me the most. I have quite a few books on my TBR shelf, but there are a select few that I really want to read, but totally intimidate me when it comes to picking them up and reading them.

Here Are The Books That Intimidate Me:
  1. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
  2. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
  3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
  4. The Help byKathryn Stockett
  5. The Chalice & the Blade by Tara Janzen
extra #6: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Game of Thrones, Outlander, and Pride and Prejudice are all quite difficult for me to read, I mean the first two aren't written to be difficult to read, but I just found them to be really long and overall really detailed and...adult. I've attempted to read P&P, but I got very confused and stopped half way through. The Help is not hard to read at all, but I've just not gotten to reading it. The Chalice & the Blade was an impulse buy, but it just sounded so good. It helped that it was a penny on Amazon :D

LOTR, the extra book, well it's actually a trilogy...kind of...I'm not even sure anymore. But I had attempted the first book in the Lord of the Rings before, and I just couldn't get through it. That was 3 years ago, so hopefully I can get to reading it sooner rather than later.

Those are my most intimidating books on my shelf! Woo! Comment down below which books on your shelf freak you out the most!

Have a lovely day everyone!

Top 5 Wednesday {#13}: Biggest Book Hangovers

Hey guys!

Its time for another Top 5 Wednesday! This week we will be discussing my top 5 books that have caused my worst book hangovers. There have been quite a few books that have caused me to get a book hangover. It was actually kind of hard for me to pick my top 5, but I guess I've managed it well enough. Here are a few of them!

  1. The Selection (series) by Kiera Cass
  2. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
  3. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
  4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  5. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
All five of these books have given major book hangovers. The Harry Potter series alone made me obsessive and somewhat depressed over the ending. Each of these books are some of my all time favorites. If you've read my reviews for these books, you will know that I am absolutely obsessed with all of these books/series. The Selection series....Oh my goodness...If you knew how much I was obsessed with this series...you'd think I was nuts. To be honest I'm not quite sure how to write this post, because if I had to go on a long schpeal about these books, then I'd probably babble...

If you'd like to read about my thoughts on these books then check out my reviews! They are linked below!
I hope you end up picking up these books, because they are some of my favorites. If you end up checking them out, tweet me/message me/tag me in something! I love to discuss these books! Don't hesitate to ask questions either!

Happy reading everyone!

Top 5 Wednesday: Bailey's Top 5 Favorite Books

Hey guys!

Once again, it is time for another Top 5 Wednesday! Since it is a full week of Bailey's reviews, she and I decided to figure out what her top 5 favorite books are. Bailey's compiled up a few books that she really loves off of her shelf. Each of her books are really different from each other and there are a few fantasy, a book all about cats, and a couple children's classics. Here are her top 5 favorite books from her shelf!

  1. Fairy Dust & the Quest for the Egg by Gail Carson Levine
  2. I Love Cats & Kittens by David Alderton
  3. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
  4. The Space Between (The Never Girls #2) by Kiki Thorpe
  5. Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling
1. If you have read Bailey's review for Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, you would have noticed that she gave FD&TQFTE a 6 out of 5 stars. Our mother bought this book for Bailey from Goodwill, and Bailey instantly fell in love. This book has such gorgeous illustrations by David Christiana, and Bailey would constantly come up to me and show me the illustrations and gush about them. Bailey is dying to get her hands on the 2 sequels to the book.

2. Bailey, if you do not know her well, is a huge fan of cats. She's been fascinated by cats for practically forever. She likes to read about cats, act like a cat, watch cat videos, and ask questions about cats. She's also quite shy around new people, and when she's embarrassed she meows...She's a very happy human-kitty....Bailey loves to find about new cat breeds..Her favorite breed of kitty is a rag-doll cat:

3. The Giving Tree was one of the first books that she ever read. Bailey loves how giving and generous the tree is. The tree's love for the boy really touched her, Bailey likes to talk about how nice the tree was, and how sad the ending was. I'd like to add that The Giving Tree is one of my favorite books too, and the over all message is really lovely and meaningful. If you haven't read The Giving Tree, then Bailey and I highly recommend it. As Bailey likes to say, "It's just plain good."

4. Bailey had been totally in love with the Never Girls series when she first read and reviewed the first book: In A Blink. We've since then reviewed the fourth book in the series (reviews: {1}{4}). I asked Bailey why The Space Between was her favorite from the series, and she couldn't exactly explain what exactly caused her to make this her favorite, but she did say that she "really really likes it." She thinks it's the best from the series, and that she wants you to read it.

5. Bailey also got this book from Goodwill. She read this quite a bit ago, and she took a liking to Rudyard Kipling's funny stories. Her particular favorite was How The Whale Got His Throat. She says: "The stories are so good!...They're just nice!"

As Bailey gets older, I can tell that her tastes will change, but for now I love to see that her love of reading will continue throughout her life. I love to see her tastes changing, and her vocabulary expanding. Just today, she described someone as agile, and it was so surprising and actually kind of hilarious. She's such a smart girl and I'm a proud sister.

Check out more of Bailey's reviews here: {click}!

I hope you enjoyed Bailey's little list of favorites. We will see you tomorrow with another review!

Happy reading!

Top 5 Wednesday {#12}: Least Favorite Books In Series

Hey guys!

It's that time again! Once again, it's time for another Top 5 Wednesday! i had looked at the Top 5 Wednesday group on Goodreads, and I had seen that one of the weekly topics to discuss was your least favorite books from series. This took a lot of thought from me on my part, but I've managed to make up a list of 5 books. Here they are!

1. The Kill Order (The Maze Runner#0.5) by James Dashner

One of the first books that I thought of would have to be The Kill Order. If you had read my Maze Runner series review {click here},you would know that I actually really hate this book. The book was made up of maybe 90% action, and 10% story. I was hoping for a story that revolved more on Thomas and Teresa, but there wasn't much to keep my bookish appetite sated. I hope for more when it comes to The Fever Code which will come out in September.

My Rating: 3 stars

2. New Moon (The Twilight Saga #2) by Stephanie Meyer

I've read this book a multiple of times, and it's probably my least favorite of the series. I didn't like Bella or Edward in this book, they were both aggravating, and even thinking of this now...it's aggravating. The Twilight Saga was the first vampire series and Twilight, the first in the series, was the first vampire book I had ever read. These books are very nostalgic for me, and even if I kind of think this addition to the series is bleh, it still holds a very special place in my heart.

My Rating: 3.75 stars ???

3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

15881
Ok! LET ME EXPLAIN!

The Chamber of Secrets. I absolutely love it! It just happens to be my least favorite of the Potter books...I don't really know why. It's fantastic in every way! It's just my least favorite of the series...I guess that's all I have to say about that.

My Rating: 5 stars

4. Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

13362536

So recently, in December, I read Opal for the first time. It had been a year since I had read the first and second books in the Lux series, so I decided to read them again. I read the first and second, and I loved them, as I started Opal...I was getting bored...I was getting slumpy. I decided that I would push through and stop after the third. I was beginning to predict what was going to happen next, and I didn't like it, and I was beginning to hate the book. I know that I will complete the series because there's only 2 books left, but I had decided then that I would put it off so that I could end the year reading something amazing.

5. Peter & the Sword of Mercy (Peter and the Starcatchers #4) by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson

8471604
As an 11 or 12 year old, I was totally in love with this series, and I had read the first and second books in the series over and over again. I didn't know, at the time, that there were two more installments added to the series (there's now 5 in the series). When I read the fourth, it had been a couple years since the last time than when I read the third. This may have contributed to my negative feelings towards the book, but maybe someday I'll reread the series.

My Rating: 3 stars

I hope you all enjoyed this addition to LivTheBookNerd's Top 5 Wednesday! I will see you tomorrow with a review of An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, and next Tuesday with a review of Half Bad by Sally Green! See you soon!

Happy Reading!
