Hey, guys!

      If you've followed me consistently on my social media, you've probably read my complaints about how I've started school. I'm just going to be totally up-front with you all. I'm really struggling with fitting reading for fun in my school schedule. There's just so much to do. I'm the most involved with school this semester than I've ever been. (Hooray for having my own vehicle!) 

     Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that I will probably blog infrequently until I get my crap together. I'm not sure when that will be, but my top priority is school right now. I'm paying to be here, so I'm committing. I think I said this last semester too. You guys know the drill. 

    I was going to originally post this the Tuesday of my first week, but it just didn't happen. This will be going up during my third week of school, so I hope you guys like this tag. I had a lot of time answering the questions.

A book you bought because of someone else's recommendation

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I just recently bought a copy of The Book Thief by Marcus Zuzak because my best friend Maddie absolutely raves about it. My friend, Alice (@thereadinglitchi), is also a major Zusak fan. They have been raving about The Book Thief for such a long time, so when I went to Half Price Books last week, I decided to splurge and purchase a copy.

Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern

I read this book from my local library back in 2014 and it was instantly a new favorite. I had picked it up on a whim. I hadn't even known about the movie. This story is so sweet and it made my little 16-year-old heart melt. Someday, I'll have to pick it back up again.

I purchased this sometime last year during a BookOutlet sale. It was sooo cheap! I think it was $45 or something. I think I saved $70-90 because of BookOutlet. I just remember that it was cheap, but still quite expensive. I absolutely adore the Harry Potter books. These editions are stunning.

Do you write in your books?

I only write in my school books. I rarely ever write in my fun books. I'll tab them, but I don't particularly like to annotate because I never really stick to it unless it's for academic reasons.

Back in elementary school, I lent a friend a copy of my one of my favorite books. She moved schools and never gave it back to me, though she won't admit it. I'm not salty anymore, but I sure was at age 11.

A book you’ve lied to people about reading

I don't really lie about reading books. However, I won't admit that I just skim boring books for my classes. A lot of the books that I read last semester were actually skimmed and SparkNoted. I would attempt to read them for hours and I just did not understand them. It was more productive to try to understand the story and skim for specific moments to read, rather than commit to something I didn't understand at all.

{Tag} All I Want For Christmas Book Tag

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

     Today I decided to do a cute little tag to get us in the bookish and holiday mood! I, personally, celebrate Christmas and starting Friday my friends and family are going to begin the actual "festivities" with good food, giving gifts, and just spending time together. I think I got all of my friends and sisters at least one book (what's new?), so I'm excited to see if they like their gifts.

[TAG]: The Avatar the Last Airbender Book Tag

Hey, guys!

      It's that time again! I've been dying to do this tag for a while, but I just haven't had the time! I absolutely adore Avatar. It's been one of my favorite shows for years. Katara & Sokka: Best Sibling Relationship

Sabrina & Daphne Grimm from The Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley

Who doesn't love a sassy sister duo? This middle grade series is such a compelling and addicting series to read. I've been such a huge fan of Michael Buckley for the past..what? 10 years? And I'm always finding myself rereading these books. I'm actually long overdue for a Sisters Grimm reread, so that might be coming up soon! 

Yue: Favorite star-crossed lovers

Maxon Schreave and America Singer from The Selection series by Kiera Cass

If you've followed my blog for very long, you'd know about my fangirl obsession revolving around the Selection series. This series is just so beautiful, and America and Maxon just fit each other so well. I love their love story so much and I recommend this series to absolutely everyone. It's so fantastic.

Blood Bending: A book with a disturbing/unsettling concept

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

I've only just read this book for my literature class, but wow was it twisted. The Handmaid's Tale takes place in an apocalyptic version of the United States (now Gilead). In this world, women have no rights and are basically sex slaves for the government. Need I go on? Anyway, it's a really interesting novel, but totally twisted. It's one of the few books that I actually liked reading for a class.

Toph – A character who’s strength surprised you/or surprised the other characters in the book

Essie from Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis

When going into Stitching Snow, I had no idea that I would be meeting a character that was a secret cage fighter. Not only was she a cage fighter, but she is so smart and a total badass! I just loved her character throughout this book. I actually reviewed this book yesterday if you'd like to check that out.

Okay, I'm actually not sure what to put for this one because I haven't been impressed with the short stories or poetry collections that I've read, so I'm just going to say Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass because it's a collection of novellas and I love them so much.

Kioshi Warriors: Best warrior character

Inej from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Holy cow this book was so great. I can't wait until I get my hands on Crooked Kingdom. The characters in this book were so fantastically written and I was captivated by all of their stories. The ending of this book made me gasping for more. Inej, especially, stood out to me. Her story was so tragic, but she was so strong. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Zuko: Best redemption arc/a redemption arc that should have happened

How about a redemption arc that should have NEVER happened? 

Gideon from Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here by Anna Breslaw

I hated Gideon in this book. I mean he could have been totally dreamy to some people, but to me he was a stuck up, selfish little brat. I never wanted Scarlett to end up with someone like him. You can read more about how I hate him in my review!

Iroh: Wisest character

Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Even though Dumbledore is kind of controversial these days, I would still say that he is a very wise character. I really loved Dumbledore all throughout the books and films. I can't wait to see a younger Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts movies. I just love that this world is being revisited.

Azula: Best downfall

Clarkson Schreave in The One by Kiera Cass

I mean this is kind of twisted, but I was so glad when Clarkson was overthrown. He was so awful all throughout the books and I couldn't wait for Maxon to take over. He's such a great character.

Right now it has to be a Niffer from J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. I didn't think that one of the creatures was going to steal the spotlight from Eddie Redmayne in the movie, but the niffler was absolutely precious and I can't wait to meet more beasts in the next few movies.

Holy crap I love Henri so much. He is probably one of the sweetest characters I've ever read about in my life. He was so sweet to Eadlyn all throughout the books and he only wanted her to be happy no matter what and I just love him so much.

Avatar state: A stubborn character/a character that struggles with letting go

Louisa Clark from Me Before You & After You by Jojo Moyes

Louisa is probably one of the most real characters I've read in a long time. Her grief so realistic and Moyes' writing is so lovely to read. I can't wait to pick up more of her books. I just love her writing. Even though she's gone through so much heartache, she's still trying to move on and live her life like Will wanted her to. I just love Clark. She's just so lovely.

Okay, so that's the end of the tag! I just love Avatar so much, and I highly recommend that you watch this series. It's so fun and the story is fantastic...but don't watch the movie. It is legit trash...not worth it at all.

1. FOUNDATION: pick your favorite book that is the first book in a series

I usually always include a Harry Potter book in my tags, and today won't be an exception! Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling! Do I need to explain? I don't think so!

2. EYESHADOW: pick a book that has your favorite colors on the cover

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. It's very pink, but the good kind of pink. On top of that! It's ombre! Hello, gorgeous! Click here for my review! {click here}. This was actually my first review ever on my blog, so this book has a very special spot in my heart. 

3. EYELINER: pick a dark & mysterious book

Oooh! I'd have to pick Little Nothing by Marissa Silver. I just read it in the beginning of November and it was so mysterious and strange. My review will be going up tomorrow!

4. MASCARA: pick a loooooong book

I haven't read any super long books lately, because I don't have time to commit (insert the saddest emoji), but one of my favorite super long books is probably any of the books in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. It's been maybe 5 years since I've read them, but I plan on reading them again once I've aquired my own copies of the books. I have copies of books one and two, but I can't binge read them until I have books three and four. I hope you understand my predicament. 

5. BLUSH: pick a book that had some cringe-worthy romance

Oh goodness...The romance in Perfected by Katie Jarvik Birch was just wow...The romance between Ella and the congressman's son was so cringe-y and Stockholm syndrome-y. I didn't enjoy the romance at all. You can read more about my issues with this novel here: {click here}

6. LIPSTICK: your favorite book kiss

Percy Jackson & Annabeth Chase in The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan was legendary. I love this series so much.

I've probably already told this story, but when I went shopping with my friends about a month ago, we went into Books-A-Million...you know how we do...and we went to the section of the store where they had signed books. I didn't expect to find anything that I desperately needed, but we went up anyway because I wanted to look. Lo and behold, we found a signed copy of A Court of Mist and Fury! I literally grabbed it, sank to the floor, and giggled like an idiot. My twin sister Sarah, of course, knew about my fangirling tendencies because she lives with me, but Jenna and Courtney were a bit befuddled and laughed at me. Jenna was hilarious and just told me to get up and buy the book...So I did. I bought the book. So now I have 2 copies of ACOMF and I'm not even mad. 

So that's the tag! I'm not sure who to tag, so anyone can do it!
