Hey guys!

     I've just finished reading Shatter Me by Tehereh Mafi, and oh. my. gosh! Now I know what all the hype is about! This book, and I'm sure the whole series just gets better and better, but this book is just so engaging and...just... read the synopsis and you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about...

The Goodreads synopsis:

"Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

     The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

     The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

     Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior."

~~~
Hi again! So now you have an idea of what I'm talking about!
     So this story follows Juliette who has been locked up in a government facility for 264 days, so almost a year, and she hasn't spoken to another person in, well, 264 days! So then they give her a cell-mate...Adam...
     I can't give away any spoilers but I can write down what I loved about this book.
1) the characters
2) the language- it's just so flowy and beautiful to read!
3) the world- it's so tragic but easy to understand how it came to be (duh stupid humanity)
4) I'm just going to say it Tahereh Mafi knows how to write a great make-out sesh...just saying...it was so sweet and gahhh so cute! ASDFGHJKLP
5) Kenji! Hello! Comic relief! Hilarious! Loved him!
6) Little James is so fricken brave and sweet and just awww [♥️]
7) Why is there a Team Warner?!?! Hopefully, that question will be cleared up when I read the rest of the books :)
8) ADAM! That's all.
9) Juliette is so bada**! Love her! Great character! Very well written! Quite tragic too but I'm loving it so far!
I rate this 5 stars :)
I'm currently working on These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner so a review/post on that will be coming up soon!
Okay until later!
Happy New Year!
Goodreads synopsis:
"Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.
     The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it "might" be able to stop a war between the two camps.
     The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over."
Hey, guys! Merry day-after-Christmas!
     This is going to kind of be rambling because I finished this book literally last night when I finished Christmas dinner with my grandparents and my dad...and I screamed...so if you're as dedicated to this series...or any of Rick's books you will definitely feel the feels. I apologize in advance for this review in advance but I felt like I had to put something up in honor of this art piece of a book! If you haven't read these books yet I highly advise you to read these books, trust me, you are missing out on some amazingness! I urge you to read these books...I seriously urge you! If you like Greek and Roman mythology and fantasy and butt kicking actions and a bit of romance and an adorable son of Hades this book is for you!
     I'm going to dive right into the review of this book. This book, The Blood Of Olympus, is the fifth and final installment of the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan (a.k.a. Uncle Rick...he's not my uncle but he's the fandom's uncle). It is following the 7 demi-gods in the ominous prophecy.... "Olivia don't spoil anything!" A/N IF YOU WANT SPOILERS EITHER COMMENT OR EMAIL ME. This follows that last few days before Gaea awakens...OMIGOSH THE BATTLE SCENE!!!!
     So...the characters are soo complex guys! By the end of the book, I felt like I knew them better than I ever did in the last four books! Percy was so sassy and then BAM Nico hits and he's even sassier and sweet and dark and I just love it. Nico or Leo have to be my two favorite male characters... and Annabeth is just so great...FORGET IT I LOVE THEM ALL!
****again I am so sorry I've totally spazzed on you guys, but within a week or so I will be updating this post and putting more of a professional review on this but my heart can't contain the feels and the (SPOILER ALERT) cliffhanger Uncle Rick left us with****
Okay until later guys, again I'm sorry for the spazzy-ness and the weirdness but good grief this book was kind of perfection!
I rate this as 5 stars *****
Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Goodreads synopsis:
"Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…"
Hey guys!
     Oh. My. Gosh. This book is so great! It is just as good as Obsidian, if not better :D.
     This book continues off from Obsidian so I probably can't say much but I can say this... IT'S AMAZING. DON'T TRUST ANYONE.
     This book is sooo good. It's soo addicting and fun to read. I know that this is a really crappy review but I can't say much without spoiling everything. I also know that I just posted the Obsidian review but I highly recommend you pick up these books from your local library or local book store.
I rate this 5 stars *****
Until later guys! I love you all! Merry Christmas!
Goodreads synopsis:
"Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is."
Hey guys!
     This story is the first in a series of 5 (plus a novella). It follows a girl named Katy who moves to West Virginia with her mom after her father dies of cancer. She meets her neighbors, Dee and Daemon, and she and Dee become fast friends...except Daemon is a total jerk...An eventually she finds out that he and Dee are...aliens. Enough of the spoilers, on with my loving rant.
     To be honest, I didn't think I would like this book at all. I'm not a big fan of alien books at all, but I loved this book! I highly recommend it, even if you're not a fan of this book, you will love it! The characters are so deep and relatable (not the alien parts tho but how they feel about people and their family). Not to mention, Katy is a book blogger! :D
     Jennifer L. Armentrout is seriously an amazing writer. She knows how to write about characters you can fall in love with...even the asshat Daemon.
     I hope y'all read this book. It is so much fun to read and it's just a really great book overall. :D
Enjoy!
Happy Reading!
Isla & the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
Goodreads synopsis:
"Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?
Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.
Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series."
Hey guys! Olivia here!
    AGAIN! Stephanie Perkins doesn't disappoint! This book...is practically flawless! But! This book was so good and I read it almost in one sitting (finals are so sucky guys). The characters were really cool and sweet and cutesy but they didn't quite have the depth that Anna, St. Clair, Lola, and Cricket had in the previous books. I felt like I couldn't quite connect as well with Isla and Josh and it felt kind of forced. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing book but it's not quite as great as the previous two. I encourage you to read Isla...in fact it's a must if you've read Anna and Lola.
    THE ENDING GUYS! YOU NEED TO FINISH IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND READ THE ENDING!!!!
Until later guys!
Love you all!
Goodreads synopsis:
    “Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion…she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit—more sparkly, more fun, more wild—the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
    When Cricket—a gifted inventor—steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.”
Hey, guys! Olivia here!
    I absolutely loved this book! Lola is such a cool character. Not only is she unique, she can sew and make her own clothes. I don’t really like her choice in boys (Max) but Cricket…I love! They just click and their love story has to be one of my favorites :D . I also really like her biological mom…she may be a recovering drug and alcohol addict but she really does somewhat care for Lola. Her dads are also really cool as well. I love how much they care for Lola and how much they take care of her. They are really great parents. Cricket and his sister Calliope are really talented twins, Calliope with her figure skating and Cricket with his mechanical abilities. I’m just going to say again that Stephanie Perkins is amazing and she’s sooo great at what she does. I would read any more of her books in a heart beat…unfortunately I have already read them all..haha..ha *sadness*… I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
    This book, like Anna and the French Kiss, is by Stephanie Perkins. It is a companion to ANNA and Isla and the Happily Ever After (which i will review in my next post tomorrow). You can read these books in any order you want but i recommend you reading them in this order: Anna, Lola, and then Isla…trust me it is worth it!
Until next time!
Goodreads synopsis:
Can Anna find love in the City of Light?
Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.
But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?
~~~

Hey, guys! Olivia here!
    This week I re-read a delightful book called Anna and the French Kiss. This story follows the main character, Anna. Anna is a senior in high school, but her famous writer dad makes her go to a boarding school in France. Anna really doesn’t want to go, in fact, she rather loathes going. She doesn’t want to give up her life in Atlanta, Georgia, USA; she doesn’t want to leave her little brother; she doesn’t want to leave her best friend, Bridgette; and she doesn’t want to lose her chance of being with her crush Toph.
    She ends up going to France to attend the boarding school and meets Meredith, Rashmi, Josh, and Etienne St. Clair. Etienne is a charming and charismatic half-American and half-French boy. Sparks fly nearly instantly…the only problem…he has a girlfriend…
    Stephanie Perkins, let me say, is an amazing author. She writes these complex characters that you easily can relate to and get attached to. In the beginning of the book, you meet the characters and they automatically seem like people you’d meet in high school, fun loving, wild, and young. Anna and St. Clair progress as better characters throughout the whole story, trying to figure out who they are and trying to find love all at the same time...OH AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY’RE TRYING TO KEEP THEIR IMPECCABLE GRADES!
    This book is so much fun to read and it’s an amazing contemporary romance. It makes you sit on your seat and cry and laugh…its an emotional book.
Until next time,
Olivia
