Goodreads synopsis:

Cherry Costello's life is about to change forever.

She and Dad are moving to Somerset where a new mum and a bunch of brand-new sisters await. And on Cherry's first day there she meets Shay Fletcher - the kind of boy who should carry a government health warning. But Shay already has a girlfriend, Cherry's new stepsister, Honey. Cherry knows her friendship with Shay is dangerous - it could destroy everything. But that doesn't mean she's going to stay away from him...

Hey guys!

So I bought this on Amazon in March (for about $0.75 + $3.99 shipping), because in my middle school years I enjoyed quite a few of Cathy Cassidy's standalone novels and I enjoyed the way she wrote. Unfortunately, I could never find this particular novel anywhere! So, I looked on Amazon and I found this...it was until this year that I actually bought it so Cherry Crush is kind of a long awaited book from what I read in my middle school years. This was such a cute book and without further ado here's the review!

This novel follows Cherry Costello. Cherry lives with her dad in a little flat with a low paying job of picking out the reject chocolate bars in a chocolate factory, but that is about to change.  She and her dad are moving to Somerset to live with her dad's girlfriend's family and they're going to start up an organic fancy-dancy chocolate business. On the first day there, Cherry meets Shay, who is her new step-sister's boyfriend...and Cherry falls for him..hard. She knows forming a friendship with him could be dangerous, but she cannot help herself.

Cherry's new "family" consists of:~Charlotte: Her father's girlfriend~The girls: Honey (age 14), Summer & Skye (ages 12), and Coco (age 11)

Each one of the girls have really different personalities that are really adorable and well thought out, even in the first book. The next books in the Chocolate Box Girls series are narrated in the different girl's point of views. The sixth book in the series, Fortune Cookie, is going to be published by Puffin, well..TOMORROW! So, check that out! I still have to read the sequels, but I've only heard great things about the Chocolate Box Girls series.

So I really hated Kirsty McRae. Oh my gosh I absolutely loathed her as a character! She was just plain mean just for the heck of it! I couldn't stand that! Also, I know Cherry used her imagination to escape life, but sometimes she just needs to know when to stick her foot in her mouth. In the beginning of the book she just made me mad, but as I got to know her character, I started to realize all that she went through.

"Sometimes you need to get on with your life and not focus on the past but look forward to the future." ~Me ;)

My Favorite Character(s): I suppose Cherry, but I also really loved how original Skye was
My Least Favorite Character(s): Kirsty and Honey (for the most part)

Anyway, enjoy guys! And remember! You're never to old to read Middle Grade!
