2016 Reading Wrap Up!

Hey, guys!

I managed to read 106 books. It shows up as 109/103 on Goodreads because it counted duplicates on my end of year summary, so I fixed it so that they kind of don't count anymore. I'm so happy with the books that I read this year, and I can't wait read more this year. I'm not changing my goal to a higher number, but I think I'm going to keep it at 100 books just because I know I will be swamped this semester with work and school. I'm cherishing the last week of my break. This will be the last week I have to write and read. Expect reviews to be scheduled for the next couple weeks. I'm unsure whether reviews will be consistant during the next few months of school, but I definitely will try! Stay tuned for more bookish fun!

October Wrap Up

Hey, guys!

It's been a really busy month, but I've managed to read 4 books this month. I actually didn't realize that it was the end of the month until I realized that Halloween was the end of the month....I know I'm that brain dead. Anyway one of the books that I read was for my literature class, so I guess it doesn't even count...Well, it does, but ugh.

  1. The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid ~ 3 stars
  2. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi ~ 5 stars
  3. The Queen of Sheba by Jessica V. Barnett ~ 3 stars
  4. Yellow Brick War (Dorothy Must Die #3) by Danielle Paige ~ 4 stars
+267 pages of Little Nothing by Marissa Silver
+85 pages of The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (for class)

I've also read a butt-ton from my college textbooks and written over 100+ pages combined for notes for all of my classes. It's absolutely insane how much I do for my college classes, but so worth it...I suppose.

Reviews for the books without links will be going up soon!

Number of Pages Read: 1,411

Favorite Book Read: Yellow Brick War
Least Favorite Book Read: The Reluctant Fundamentalist
Most Common Genre Read: Fantasy

September 2016 Wrap Up & October TBR

Hey, guys!

This month has been so crazy busy! I've just finished my first full month of my freshman year of college, I've started a new job, I've done homework for most of the month and as you can see, I've barely read any books this month. I was planning to read, but I have finished some alright books.

  1. City Of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
    • Rating: 4.75 stars
    • Review Date: October 27
  2. Perfected by Katie Jarvik Birch
    • Rating: 3 stars
    • Review Date: TBD
  3. The Children's Horrible House by N. Jane Quackenbush
    • My Rating: 3 stars
    • Review Date: October 10
  4. The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night-Time by Mark Haddon
    • My Rating: 4 stars
    • Review Date: TBD
  5. Biome by Ryan Galloway
    • My Rating: 3 stars
    • Review Date: October 4
I read two books for fun, 2 review copies, and one for my literature class. I know that 5 is a pretty good, but I was expecting to read so much more. Last month, I had read 13 books, and I guess I had really high expectations for myself. Hopefully, I get back to reading and get out of the reading slump that has been developing throughout the month. Hopefully, I'll read more in October, but who knows? I work quite a lot and my homework takes up almost all of my free time. There are so many things I want to do in October. It's my birthday month, so hopefully great things happen.

Currently Reading: Furthermore by Tehereh Mafi
    • Current Reading Status: page 283
    • This is the September book of the month, so hopefully I get it done in time for the live stream that Julia and I are supposed to do. It might be late, but we're not sure yet. We have so much going on.
Total Pages Read: 1,553
Favorite Book Read: City of Ashes
Least Favorite Book Read: Perfected
Most Common Genre Read: Fantasy

October TBR:

Here are the books that I really want to read this month. I mean, who knows what's going to happen. I know that at least 3 of these books will get finished because they either have reviews that are supposed to go up really soon or they are supposed to read for school or the book club. There are a couple books that aren't shown (i.e. the book club book of the month).

  1. Return to the Children's Horrible House(Children's Horrible House #2) by N. Jane Quackenbush
  2. The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid
  3. Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis
  4. City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3) by Cassandra Clare
  5. Furthermore by Tehereh Mafi
  6. Yellow Brick War (Dorothy Must Die #3) by Danielle Paige
  7. The First Principle by Marissa Shrock
Who knows if I'll finish all of these books, but hopefully I will. I still have quite a few review copies that I need to read too, but I kind of pick those up whenever I have time. I don't want to ruin the reading experience by making myself read them when I'm not in the mood.

Sorry this was put up late! I've had such a busy month!

Happy reading everyone! Comment down below your reading progress!

Hey, guys!

During July I read 17 books! This is probably my best reading month so far! This month, I participated in 3 read-alongs: the Biannual Bibliothon, the Cram-A-Thon, and the BookTube-A-Thon. I'm really happy with the books that I read this past month. There was a good mix of genres and I finally got a chance to read a few volumes from the Attack On Titan manga series! Here are the awesome books that I read in July.

  1. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover (e-book)
    •  4 stars
  2. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
    • 5 stars
  3. The Good Braider by Terry Farish (not shown)
    • 3.5 stars
  4. Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them by Newt Scamander (J.K. Rowling)
    • 5 stars
  5. Attack On Titan Volume 1 by Hajime Isayama*
    • 4.5 stars
  6. Attack On Titan Volume 2 by Hajime Isayama*
    • 4 stars
  7. Attack On Titan Volume 3 by Hajime Isayama*
    • 4 stars
  8. The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo #1) by Rick Riordan
    • 5 stars
  9. Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
    • 5 stars

    • 5 stars
  16. Attack On Titan Volume 7 by Hajime Isayama*
    • 4 stars
  17. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
    • 5 stars
*Graphic novels, reviews coming in December in Graphic Novels Read in 2016 post

If I haven't linked in a review for one of these books, then that means that there will be a review posted sometime in August and maybe September. I may not read as much in late August and September because I will be starting my freshman year in college, so there will be a bit of an adjustment period.

Favorite Book Read: The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
Least Favorite Book Read: The Good Braider by Terry Farish -- I'm not sure what made me so bored with this book, but it just wasn't my favorite book that is written in verse.
# of Pages Read: 4,382 pages

August TBR:

I have a lot of review copies to catch up on, which is unfortunate because I'm about to start up my first year of college and I know that I will get busy quite quickly. I'm also going to apply to work at the school library, so hopefully I get a job, but unfortunately that will stop me from reading as much as I would like. I'm going into August with a pretty ambitious TBR, but I don't start school until the 22nd...I will be frantically reading and pre-writing reviews until then. But until then, here are the books that I plan on reading!

  • Phage by Mark Tamplin
  • The Tormented Witch by J.C. Beckham
  • Kitty Hawk & the Curse of the Yukon Gold by Iain Reading
  • The Alfaeren Legacy by Marc Jacobs
  • Courageous (Valient Hearts #3) by Dina L. Sleiman
  • The Drowning of Arthur Braxton by Caroline Smailes
  • A Worthy Heart (Courage To Dream #2) by Susan Anne Mason
  • Amish Sweethearts (Neighbors of Lancaster County #2) by Leslie Gould
  • Never by Shay Lynam (e-book)
  • Biome by Ryan Galloway (e-book)
  • Awaken by Skye Malone (not shown)
The next two books are not review copies or ARCs, but one is the LivTheBookClub August BOTM & one is just one that I want to read ASAP...
I'm not sure if I will finish all of these books, but if I don't finish any of these books in August, they will be carried over to September because I have to finish these books and get my reviews out there! I'm usually a mood reader, and even if I'm not in the mood to read these books, I'll put myself in the mood because I hate getting books from authors and then not reading them or putting them off! That's so rude! I hate leaving authors hanging when it comes to reviews, even if the review is coming up but it's pre-written and scheduled for weeks in advance. I just don't want to cheat them or whatever. :)

Anyway, if you're reading some of these books in August comment down below! Also! Please share the books that you're reading with me! Whether you comment down below or tweet me doesn't matter, but I'd love to talk books with y'all!
